Linda,

Here is our simple answer. We have a Lab resource of LABOPD with 10 minute time slots with max of 3 appts (3 phlebotomists in the drawing room) generic appointment type of LABOPD – on page  OE link to OE order LABDRAW.  When the appointment is filed this launches OE and the user puts in the lab orders, GLU, BUN, etc.  Of course if you have specific labs that should be scheduled at certain times or you want to limit numbers for tolerance test, let me know and I will give you specifics.  We also use this for our owned practices for specimens.

The only problem we have experienced is that edited (rescheduled) appointments cause each lab test to file in the lab on separate reqs.  Meditech has yet to resolve this problem.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] OE SCHEDULED PATIENTS

Is anyone ordering Lab Tests on Scheduled Patients?  We would like to be able to do this, but, have not yet figured out how to do it.

Thanks,

Linda K. Crimin
