Our hospital is using a third party software called Nice Labels/Nice
Watch to print out registration forms. Currently we are using a DG
Termserver port connected to the PC that the Nice Label program is
running. It works fine. Meditech thinks the PC is a printer and just
sends the information to the PC.
We would like to remove the connection from the Termserver to a switch port
and use the IP address of the PC. When I set the Remote printer in
Meditech and print to the Printer(which is actually a PC) it sends the name of
the printer but none of the other data. Meditech is sending in a LPR mode
and we need the information to be sent in a RAW data mode. Meditech has
told me this is not possible.
I have a workaround to print to LOCAL and the information will flow to the
Printer/PC that is set up as a default in widows without a problem. I
don't want to use this workaround because the Registration clerks could possibly
want to print to more than one printer.
Anybody have any ideas or solutions?
