We close both MM and AP as soon as possible on the first day of the month.
Here It's sort of an accounting principle thing. We want The booked accrual
value to be
accurate as of the end of the month, and locked to the Values reported to GL
from MM.
When MM is closed, on whatever day of the month, all values passed to GL are as
of the
last day of the month being closed. But the Accrual is as of the date that it
is run.
It can't be run for a prior date.
Theoretically, if you accrual is about $10,000 on the first day after period
close, it
should be about $10,000 when run on any day of the month (Unless there are
certain
transactions that you plan for either beginning or end of the month like enter
all receipts
once per week, pay certain MM bills on either first or last day of month, ...)
If you don't run the Accrual until the 7th AND you want it to accurately
reflect the
month end condition, then the "issue" becomes one of manually backing out those
receipts
and/or payments made since the beginning of the month........even though you
may wind up
with "about" the same amount.
Rich
There is no "Problem" with the Accrual.
