Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] Craneware

Hello Sandy,
We use Craneware. I have several clinical leaders who use the
Craneware-On Line product. The ones that actually use it are very
pleased.
Several years ago we tried to distribute the "Craneware Toolkit"
product to the clinical leaders (I was one of them back then) but it is
not an easy sell due to the many updates when you enter the program. Now
don't get me wrong it is a powerful tool but unless you have a
"scripting tool" to get the adjusted information into Meditech from
Craneware, you end up doing double entry.
Also the product is designed for Medicare and will not send you
special notifications of CPT changes if they do not directly affect
Medicare. (Example: Some of the IV infusion codes for 2006. Medicare had
their own codes and CPT changed some of theirs. We got notified of the
Medicare codes but not of the CPT changes for those particular ones. The
CPT changes were in Craneware, but they did not "point them out" as they
do strictly Medicare related code changes.)
Be sure to check out CodeCorrect Inc. as another possible
solution.

Good luck.

Hi,
We are a Critical Access Hospital, using Meditech Magic 5.4, sr3.

I would like to know of Meditech hospitals who are using Craneware for
their chargemaster issues and if so, what is the level of satisfaction?

Please e-mail me direct at [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I'm looking forward to your thoughts!
