Hello Everyone,
Is there any hospital facility out there that is employing
non-resident aliens? We have started to employ some work abroad summer
students. Essentially, these students are allowed to work on a j-1 visa
for 4 months. These students are exempted from FICA taxes.
Additionally, non-resident aliens are supposed to have a certain amount
added as additional withholding for federal payroll taxes. This amount
varies based upon your payroll period, but essentially we need to add a
"phony" $102 (we are bi-weekly) to the employee's gross pay each pay
period. This $102 in gross pay is not to show up anywhere on the w-2 or
on any earnings reports. Our question is this: how do you set this
additional "withholding" up in the payroll/personnel module? Any
assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
