Richard,

I am struggling with the same problem.

Meditech is telling me you can schedule the Nursing outstanding requests to print in the Meditech scheduler throughout the day to check these issues.

I have heard word of a virtual printer being set up to run every 20 minutes that would cue the report to print to screen on pc’s, but have yet to see how that would work.

Here is the web address of a software program for a virtual printer that was sent to me by someone else.

Here is the e-mail address for the Net Print and M Print.   www.interbitdata.com

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Nursing to Pharmacy Communication

Hello all,

What prompts my question is our implementation of the Emar. Nursing needs to let Pharmacy know of issues with meds via the Hold Acknowledgment function. Other nursing requests would ideally be communicated via the emar also. When our pharmacists sign into Meditech they do see that there are outstanding nursing requests, unverified orders, hold acknowledgments etc. Our Pharmacists are sometimes in the system for extended periods of time. Other than periodically recompiling Process Patient Activity, has anyone thought of some way to alert pharmacy that Nursing has some med issue. Nursing would like to do so directly from the emar and not have to scan, fax, etc. If nursing holds an acknowledgment this crosses to pharmacy and they would like to address the issue in a timely fashion. Any creative sollutions? Thanks
