We use Glucommeters but they download the results to the EMR in the
"Lab" section.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Glucometers interfacing to NUR?

Is anyone out there able to download Glucometer results real-time from
the machine into NUR similar to how you download Vital signs? Seems a
bit archaic that staff must take the info off the glucometer write it
down or enter manually into NUR (increasing chance of error in
transcription).

Our process right now is:
The tech performs all FSBS on the unit... may take up to an hour or
more.
Tech writes these numbers down or enters into the intervention in
nursing
Docks the glucometer which downloads to Lab... have to wait for results.

We are fixing to purchase new Glucometers, so I am looking for this
functionality but doesn't seem to be available.

There has got to be a more efficient way!
Thanks in advance for the assistance.
