We use mprint (From interbit data). Each location is printed to a
separate virtual printer. We have a separate script program that auto
runs a custom MAR that shows last 3 doses given along with what is due
for the next 3 days.

We have mprint send the files as .PCL files. The script keeps them on
the hard drive of the script PC, a network storage drive, and also sends
them to two remote PCs at our long term care facility (in case of
network failure). The PCs have a local printer attached so they files
can be printed even if the entire network fails.

The script also auto deletes the files (we keep the current backup, plus
the backup 1 hour previous). The script is somewhat elaborate in that it
counts the files and verifies files are present before any deletion of
old data occurs.

To print the files, we use mprint. The only disadvantage we have with
mprint is users have to have administrator rights (or at least something
more than our "general" users). The nursing supervisors have a generic
way to log in to run mprint and print the backup mars if needed.

Script sends an email to a log account to verify completion with
filename and location of each file. If for some reason there is a
problem with the print server, the script checks dates of file and
number of files. If number of files falls short or date and time off, a
page is sent to review backup.

Hope it helps
