Shane, I asked this very question a short time
ago. The best solution I have found to this is to create a separate formulary
entry for the half-tab. Once this is built, the NDC number from the original
med can be copied (placing a suffix on the original) and a barcode for this new

order is a half a tablet. Nursing then breaks it in half and documents
accordingly. We would prefer to have pharmacy cut the tablets and only
send half a tab to the floor. How are other facilities handling
this? If you are sending half a tablet out to nursing, how are you
