Kim, The easiest way is to use the output format of cdff. Go to page three in your procedure dictionary. Press the <right arrow> key on your "campus". Enter cdff on a new line, and the destination of HERE. Enter a "Y" in the Enter Text column, and add your patient teaching material. The output isn't real pretty, but it is functional. If you want to make them nicer, create a custom output format with the NPR report writer. The DPM is OE.ORD and the select field is urn EQ c.urn. If that isn't nice enough, "FORMS ONLINE" from Iatric Systems allows you to create your handouts with MS Word, and import them. We have two secretaries that design our patient ed materials. One major benefits of using custom output formats is that the same format can be attached to multiple procedures. For example, we have the handout pertaining to COA (Coronary Angiogram) attached to the order for COA, as well as as an individual procedure in our category of PTEDHAND (Patient Ed Handouts). You only have to go to one report to edit it, whereever it is use. By the way, you can use IATRICS' Forms Online with your NUR output formats as well. The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== I've been asked to create reports for patient education on tests or procedures ordered in OE that will automatically print out on the nursing unit when the procedure is ordered. I know how to do this with nursing interventions, but am not sure if I can do this in OE. Has anyone done this before that can guide me? Can you associate the report to a print rule or is there some other way?
