Our PAS Manager is looking for insight into process changes once
scanning of insurance cards takes place in your facilities. You may
respond to her, I, and/or the L: Renee Swank,

We want to know how hospitals are handling their QA or review of
registrations for accuracy, once insurance cards are scanned rather than
copied. With scanned copies, you cannot open two windows for the same
account, which would enable you to pull up the registration and the card
copy at the same time.

We previously copied the insurance cards, every 30-90 days and we had a
couple of registrars that perform QA on the accounts utilizing the paper
copies of insurance cards on daily bases, and then of course the
insurance card copies are filed.

We don't want to have to go back to copying cards just to monitor
registrations. We also want our registrars to be able to go back into
accounts and verify that they entered the insurance information
correctly at the time of registration. They are unable to do this in a
timely manner with scanned card copies.

Any ideas or thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Are any of you up
with Meditech 5.5.2 Scanning and Archiving Point of Contact Scanning?
What have been your process changes?

Thanks, in advance.

Thank You,
