We are purchasing Idoc, document imaging and management system, which will interface with Meditech Magic. We will utilize this system for frontend scanning in Registration, backend scanning in our Business Office and complete scanning of the patient record in Medical Records. We will also be using this system as our physician portal to the EMR and for the physicians to electronically sign reports, such as H&P's and discharge summaries. I would love to have some feedback from any facility who has implemented a similar document imaging and management system and specifically I would like to know how you exported departmental reports to the document imaging system to be electronically signed, through downloading and scanning the reports or implementing an HL7 outbound ORU interface. Any information would be very, very, beneficial.
