Daniel- I worked for HCA in a past life, as have many of those here - it's a well known fact that they are indeed stingy with reports, and general knowledge. The term "non-main stream" get old too. A few special fields, OK. ePOM instead of POM, OK. As far as I know they still use the same standard syntax the rest of us use. It's a MAGIC vs. Client Server deal...that's it. There are exceptions to everything, and you are an example of that. You're www.ITNurse.net website and your involvement here are invaluable to many users. I'm also not that naive to realize that facilities pay good money to outside Consultants like myself for reports and solutions, and why share that type of information? It's a mind set - there are those that network and play well with others, and then there are those that just take...the voyeurs of the world. As a side note, I have requested thru your website twice the NPR Macro Library and yet to receive a copy. A oversight, I'm sure. Thanks again, Kevin. Kevin McConnell, PharmD. There are some issues you would want to be aware of: First, HCA has a custom version of Meditech. And, while we are moving closer to the main stream version, we aren't there yet. So, you could get something that works great for an HCA facility, but points to some index or data that doesn't exist in your environment. Second, most NPR reports have not been built by the PCM at the facility level. They are something that someone at a much higher level has designed. So, some of the people participating on this list would not be able to answer questions regarding how to "make it work" once you get it and it doesn't work like you thought. That's just a couple of reasons why you might not see tons of HCA reports floating about.
