We went up the EDM module one year ago with acuity charges and all. We ended up taking away the acuity charges for the levels due to issues that system could not handle. But we are still using the system to charge for many supplies like the IV start, IV pumps and oxygen. We have had issues with duplicate charging from the setup but are tweeking the system. We are going live with EDM on 8/29and thought we had the billing questins straightened out. We were billing for acuity and then for procedures and supplies and these were attached in the Assessment/Treatment dictionary. Now getting some feedback from CFO that we need to have medical records code these procedures and enter charges manually. One of the reasons for EDM was to help lost charges. If you have EDM and are willing to share with me how you set up billing (that makes everyone happy and noone goes to Jail) I would be eternally grateful. I am a nurse and I think the billing office speaks in tongues. Thanks again for any help.
