This is a good question...we are planning implementation of POM next year, but this definitely an issue to ponder. Nurses would love getting away from the 24 hour chart checks, but no Kardex......that could be an issue. I wonder if there would be an NPR report that could be generated instead of hand written Kardex. It could ALMOST go away.... depending on how you are doing the meds... if PHA has to verify... need to be sure that all of them were addressed in some way.. As for the rest.. if all your interfaces are working... AHHH... the KARDEX... that the nurse works from... at this point, I guess you would need to automate the Kardex in some way also then you truly could do away with all but meds?? Good food for thought!! The meditech-l web site is MTUsers.com ====================================== Working on setting up the POM and I would like to find out how other hospitals are handling the issue of 24 hour chart checks. What process was put in place to replace the checking of the written orders? Did you do special reports to print out the orders to check? How do the nurses indicate they have completed the 24 hour chart check? Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated, Roberta Laurimore, RN Clinical Analyst Culpeper Regional Hospital 540-829-4359 _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l _______________________________________________ meditech-l mailing list [email protected] http://mtusers.com/mailman/listinfo/meditech-l
