Hi Randy, We are a 5.4 SR2 Magic facility. Just have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. Did you purchase your CD from AMA or other vendor and also did you buy the ASCII format to upload? We are Magic 5.4 SR3. Before doing the upload we were expecting an effective date but there isn't one till 5.5. So after doing the upload you'll have to find the discontinued codes in the 2006 CPT book and inactivate them manually(according to Meditech). In doing the actual upload there is an option to do the ALL option: Read File 1 - CPT Codes 2 - CPT Modifiers 3 - CPT Long Descriptions A - All We did the "ALL" option. It started out with a windows dialogue box asking for the CPT code file you want to upload. We used SHORTU.TXT for example. After this was done it opened the dialogue box again asking for the CPT Modifiers. Then after that was done it then asked for the file for the Long Descriptions. Fairly painless. The whole thing took maybe 10 minutes. Good luck, Steve Steve Wegenast <>< [EMAIL PROTECTED] Jesus Christ is Life, the rest is just details! -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] On Behalf Of Randy Hart Sent: Monday, January 09, 2006 1:34 PM To: Meditech-L List (E-mail) Subject: [MEDITECH-L] AMA CPT Codes Load into Abstracting Module All messages should be posted in plain text.
