Any EDM sites out there using bar code patient identifier to track patient's progress and location? Example: Patient moves from ED to X-Ray for exam. Passive barcode reader updates patient temp location (To X-ray) and status, i.e. In X-ray, and makes similar reverse entry upon return to the ED?
If so, what type of barcode scanners have you used?
What interfaces were required, and which vendors?
