We are C/S and brought up the 837I for one of our largest payers earlier this year. You are correct, there is no view functionality for the 837 other than on a separate menu. To boot, Meditech, for C/S, does not have the ability to add a NPR to the process account menu. Therefore, for us, we have made it procedure that any modifications to the 837 are made to the Forms program as well so that a biller can print the form to know how the claim went out. Our Form for this payer is set up not to print, only to be available. This makes it easier for the billers and collectors in our facility to see what went out; however, if there is ever a question of what the 837 segments actually looked like, they come back to us in IT for review (or to the billing supervisor who has the enter/edit CPU in Process Account). I personally think this is a huge design oversight on Meditech's part and we have opened a custom task asking for the view only capability in process account.
