Once again, I have to agree with Bill completely. We have been bombarded by so many standards and regulations that we lose sight of the forest for the trees.
I remember basic infection control practices from my training 25 years ago.....and we still have dismal hadnwashing rates. Let's focus on the important and leave the sublime for when we are ready for it.... Just my two cents.

Does the scanner or computer touch the patient? Sure the wheels touch
the floor of the room, the nurse touches the patient and them the
scanner and keyboard, so I do see the cross contamination issue, but is
that not true for each and every room and patient, not just isolation
rooms.
The nurse doesn't clean her shoes between patients, her watch,
stethoscope, etc....Hopefully she does wash her hands and or remove
booties and or gloves and gown when needed for the patient's care.
Now that being said, you could clean the device (Cart/COW) after leaving
the isolation room, wipe it down with whatever disinfectant is
appropriate per your policy.
Or each isolation room could have its own device and it is only cleaned
when the room is cleaned between patients?
It has been along time since I worked with EMAR/BMV, we had a device
cleaning policy, but I do not remember a separate/specific policy for
cleaning any device for isolation patients. Maybe we had one and I just
do not remember (it has been 5-6yrs and I am old now, so I forget
things...ha ha.)
This was a hot topic when we installed EMAR/BMV, and at my current
facility it is again a hot topic, we will be implementing EMAR/BMV later
this year, but I feel it is not as much an issue as people make it out
to be.
Sure we have to be aware of infection control, wash our hands, wear
appropriate protective equipment specific for that patient and their
isolation needs, etc...We all know there are too many Staph(STAFF)
infections in every hospital, so this is a valid issue.
Some facilities have used clear wrap over the keyboards and changed that
clear wrap (saran wrap or whatever-we bought large rolls of it and each
nursing unit replaced the keyboard cover each shift or more frequently
if needed (body fluids or liquids on keyboard cover).
I have seen some vendors that sell these keyboard covers, and they are
washable, can be disinfected, etc...
