During our initial bar-coding of all pharmacy items and meds in pyxis we did utilize 2 students for about one month. I have been excited to find that my anticipated need for additional techs to handle pre-packing and bar-coding has not been realized. We have been live for a little over one year and our techs get any new items labeled in about 1 hour per day. They do this during their downtime from other processes and we have not needed any additional staff. Everyday, more products are available with bar-coding and there is less need for additional labeling.
