Tara,
We had Many problems with editing transcription reports. We eventually wrote a
small program to take thetranscription report and open with Word so the Doctors
could edit the reports. Believe me, this was a painful process. At first we
could only get thi program to work with WordPad, because Word would not wrap
the text. Let me know what problems you are having, maybe I can give you some
ideas.

Hello,
We are Magic 5.4 SR3 and have been up with EDM and RXM for a year.
The
scripts were originally set to auto print from the Print Packet
Button,
but in 5.4 you can only have one default printer from this routine. I
have just attempted to have the docs print from RXM so I could set
their
printers in the Access Dx. This does cause a number of additional
clicks on the docs part. I could not find another way to work with
more
than one printer in this system.

Has anyone set up more than one printer in EDM/RXM for scripts and if
you have can you share with me your set up? I just want to make sure
I
haven't missed something. Maybe I am making it to hard. Meditech has
not been able to help. In 5.5 I know we have the ability to do this
correctly.

Any help is appreciated,

We are currently looking at changing our nursing orientation process for

Meditech training. Can you tell me the process and length of time for

your training. For example is it all done on one day. For example, do

users have an introduction of 4 hours, go work on their unit for 2 weeks

and then return for a 4 hour session etc. I appreciate any input you are

willing to give. Also who is responsible for teaching, IT or Nursing.

Thanks again,

During our initial bar-coding of all pharmacy items and meds in pyxis we
did utilize 2 students for about one month. I have been excited to find
that my anticipated need for additional techs to handle pre-packing and
bar-coding has not been realized. We have been live for a little over
one year and our techs get any new items labeled in about 1 hour per
day. They do this during their downtime from other processes and we
have not needed any additional staff. Everyday, more products are
available with bar-coding and there is less need for additional
labeling.

Hey Tara-
I have implemented that process in several Pharmacies in different scenarios
- I like it as well to include the Verification Process for those that use
Tech and/or POM Order Entry. There are a few differences between Magic and
CS on this one, but you can also set the ones you like with higher priority
and those "float to the top of the list" on the screen.

The trick is real-time notification of our Pharmacist when our Nurse assigns
an order with Hold Acknowledgement (nHA) on the eMAR.

Fee free to contact me via return email or try my cell listed below - just
leave a message if I can't answer.

Be well - Kevin.

Hi All,
We are introducing this routine to the pharmacists when we go live with
BMV. The nurse will have the ability to hold an acknowledgement. If pharmacy
chooses the review option, it takes the nHA off of the medication. If they
choose to print the order, then they will know what to do-edit, cancel and
re-order etc.. I am trying to come up with the easiest workflow for them. If
you are using this routine, would you mind if I contacted you? Also, has
anyone written a manual for the pharmacists on how to use this routine?

Also, some meds have a r next to them. One I pulled out of our test pyxis
and others have shown up as well. Does anyone know all the instances that
the r will show up? For example, I looked at one med and it says:
UNREVIEWED ACTIVITY:
  10/04/06 0951 - RC by IS.TM AC Order Conflicts

I am not sure what this means or how to resolve it.

Thanks

addressed the various issues such as monitoring failed faxes,
confirmation of successful faxes, coversheets, faxing only when all

Good Morning All.....
We currently use the Roche point of care system for Glucose testing. The
data care information management system is going to be replaced with the
RALS-PLUS system which will allow the glucometers to be interfaced to
Meditech and direct transmission of glucose results to the patient
record. This will eliminate manual documentation by the nursing
personnel. Has anyone used the RALS point of care system to allow
glucose to be performed by the glucometers, transmit to the RALS
interface and transmit the info into MEDITECH ? If so, would you be
willing to share info regarding the implementation? Thanks in advance
for your assistance.
