After reading the listing from someone else about the Medispan "issue" I
submitted an issue and used the DTS's listed in the email and this is what
I got from Meditech today, just thought I'd pass this information on.

Good morning. I wanted to provide you with the latest update on where we
are
with the issue of incorrect related ingredients associated with Generic
drugs in
the Generic Name Dictionary:

MEDITECH has been able to look at a MEDISPAN suspense file and look at the
NDC
numbers. It appears as if there are some generic names incorrectly
associated
with some NDC numbers. (Please know that there are not many and the
Generic
Name in your Drug Dictionary will not be overwritten so the drugs you
currently
have in your PHA Drug Dictionary should remain accurate.)

I have been in regular contact with MEDISPAN regarding this to determine if
these are actually the incorrect generic names or where the problem
actually
lies. MEDITECH and MEDISPAN are working together to coordinate a
conference
call for this afternoon to discuss this issue and possible resolutions.

I will keep you updated with the outcome of the call and the direction in
which
we are to head next. Please note that it hasn't been determined that this
is a
MEDITECH issue that requires any changes. The information on the MEDITECH
- L
list is not accurate so it is not necessary to provide those changes. This
may
be an issue where they will need to receive a new set of files from
MEDISPAN but
we are working with MEDISPAN to determine if this is needed.
