I have a feeling that it may have something to do with the way the information loads from the Medispan tapes into Meditech and darn if I just didn't find one that really irritates me. I am looking at Bisacoydal tabs. All that is in the ingredients in the drug itself is Bisacoydal. But when I look at the generic Bisacoydal in the generic dictionary it has Meperidine, Morphine, Morphine2 and lots of good stuff there and there is an F by each one of them. SO I am guessing that if someone orders bisacoydal on someone and the ingredient allergy MORHINE is on their profile, they will get an ALLERGY flag? On the other hand, I put ampicillin in the generic PENICI10 (Medispan's penicillin VK) and if I enter the ingredient allergy ampicillin on a patient I can get flagging against Penicillins with the generic PENICI10 in them at all. We are on 5.5 VS1 Magic. This is the first time I ! noticed this with BISACOYDAL. "Griffin, Paul" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent by: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To <[email protected]> 10/20/2006 12:54 PM cc Subject [MEDITECH-L] Medi-Span Problem Hi all, Recently I have experienced a problem with our latest FSV (Medi-Span) File. Quite a few Generic Names have the Related Ingredient Allergy fields populated by Medi-Span with incorrect Related Ingredients. For example, Acetaminophen has Docusate, Morphine, Ipratroprium, Fish-Derived Products, Guaifenesin, Codeine, among others. I reported this to MEDITECH and they asked me to contact Medi-Span. I have not received any responses, despite multiple calls/emails. In any case, I called MEDITECH back a few days later and my Apps Specialist now states that three more of her sites are experiencing the same problem. Is anyone out there in L-Land noticed this issue? Thanks and have a great day. Paul E. Griffin R.Ph. Technically, the physician shouldn't be treating patients if they are not credentialed, or treating Medicare patients if they don't have a UPIN/PIN. Some hospitals I've worked with have just the opposite problem: they enter the physician into the Dictionary if they've been credentialed by don't have a UPIN/PIN yet. In these cases, we REJECT/Hold the claim because it is missing a UPIN/PIN; when the physician gets the PIN, the claim automatically drops. In your case, it sounds like your physician already has a UPIN/PIN. So in this case, you could probably enter the Physician into the Doctor Dictionary with his Medicare UPIN so that the electronic claim will generate correctly. Though, I'm not sure what the legal implications are if the physician is not credentialed in your organization or licensed in your state. In any case, these scenarios would seem to be an issue for Sr. Management to tackle; e.g., should they be allowing physicians to treat or refer Medicare patients to your organization if they are (1) not credentialed, or (2) don't have a UPIN necessary to be reimbursed for providing services to Medicare patients. I have created a status board for general nursing. When I click on the patient name on the status board, I am taken to the screen from admissions that shows the general info: Name, address, Admitting, attending, family docs, admission date and time, reason for visit and diagnosis code. I have created another status board that we might begin using for the docs. When I click on the name in this status board, nothing happens. Is this an access issue? I just can't figure it out. Any ideas? Thanks. Janet Duback MIS Clinical Coordinator Community Hospital of Ottawa Ottawa, IL 61350 815-431-5504 Confidentiality Notice This e-mail may contain confidential information. We have been having an issue for awhile now, and I am just wondering if anyone out there has found a solution. When Quest sends across a CANCEL in the results portion of the OBX it generates a FAIL-READ vs. a cancel, and we have to manually cancel that test. Has anyone worked out a way to get this to work, or do you feel that manually canceling the test is the best way to do this? Thanks for your help!
