Subject: [MEDITECH-L] RE: 5.5.2

Just thought I would give a quick summary of how our upgrade from 5.4.2 to 5.5.2 went.

(As we are a mixed C/S and Magic shop, we were not allowed to go to 5.5.3)

In general Meditech delivered fairly clean software.  We tested scenarios – used a subset of what Meditech suggested and did not test every DTS.  The actual conversion took about 90 minutes for most applications with Lab about 20 min later and PCI about 30 min after that.  There are a variety of minor issues in a variety of modules, some of which worked fine in 5.5 TEST and some of which we did not notice during our testing as we did not go into every field on every screen.  There were the few cases where once reported, Meditech said “Oh yes there is a DTS for that.”  (Would have been nice to have that as part of the 5.5 Package we went LIVE with.)

My last comment would be for multi-site enterprises.  We support 8 physical sites that have a huge variation in volume, as some are very small and others are full sized community hospitals.  We found the MIS SECURITY GROUPS a huge help as the sites were finished with their back entry at widely different times.  While Meditech could make the RESTRICT/UNRESTRICT SIGN-ON ACCESS routine a little more user friendly, it performed very well.
