Title: Electronic Signature- MAGIC site

Hi,
We are a MAGIC site that DOES NOT have a entirely electronic medical record.  At this time, nursing documentation and electronic signature are computerized.  Our problem is with e-sign and is 2-fold: 

1.  Our residency program uses the electronic signature function, but because the resident MD's are in training all their dictations require a second signature of a faculty MD.  The electronically signed report only prints to medical records after both signatures have occurred.  This causes some of the MD's to end up with record deliquencies when they are not deliquent because the report is waiting for the 2nd signature of the other MD.  It is also causing a lot of frustration when the MD is presented with charts to "hand sign" in medical records that he/she has already signed electronically. 

        We recognize that not allowing any "hand signatures" would be a start to removing this
        issue however we have a large medical staff of which only 20% are on the electronic
        signature program....for that reason that is not an option at this time.
What we are considering as a potential fix is: 
  *Having the report print after only 1 of the 2 signatures have occurred. 
  *Having a report that would print out of meditech showing us who has delinquent electronic signature
   reports to sign.
Does anyone have any other possible fixes?   Does anyone know how to achieve either of possible fixes that we are considering.   Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thanks Cheryl
