It is true that page 2 facility entries override page 1 entries; however, the individual function columns are editable so that you can answer either 'Y' or 'N' for each; so unless the fax number and address is different for a provider if he is seeing patients in the separate facilities, I think if you leave the E/E Fac Demo Fields column blank, it will default to the page 1 entries.  Check it out with MT or try it in TEST; but I think it will solve your duplication problem for those providers who have privileges at both of your facilities....

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Provider Dictionary Edits--Multifacility (magic)

MIS Provider dictionary inconsistencies

We have been putting the bulk of our data on page 1 of the provider dictionary.  With our new facility we may have physicians who are credentialed at one, but not the other and it looks like we may need to put facility specific information on page 2 in the facility section.  Putting something on this page limits the provider to only the facilities specified.  This area also has a facility demo screen where you can fill out another set of address, fax, phone, license #, on staff etc.

Per Meditech:

As we add providers who are only on staff at PVH or only on staff at MCR, we will be filling out information on screen 2.  However, for providers who are on staff at both facilities, we were planning on only filling out screen 1 page, but Meditech is claiming that this screen 2 information takes precedence over screen one in facility specific modules like ADM.  The way Meditech is claiming this is designed is inconsistent and creates potential for a lot of duplicate work.  Example - maintaining all address changes on both pages.  If Lab faxes results - which fax number does it use etc.

Anyone found the above to be true as well and how are you handling your multi-facility provider dictionary setups?

Thanks,
Joni Schur
