Re: Wireless phone systems.
Brandon,
Our hospital has looked at many options and has decided on the Vocera wireless
system. We have not implemented this yet but plan to go live in the next 6
months. We have talked to several hospitals that have the system and visited
Riverside Methodist who has used the system for several years and all feed back
has been good. Vocera has a nice website at www.vocera.com that explains a lot
about the system and also has brief video clips. I hope this is helpful.

I was curious as to what other hospitals are using if you are using
wireless phone systems for the nursing staff. We are currently using
Spectralink but the staff is not happy with the phones. If anyone is
using someone other than Spectralink could you please send me the info
and name of who you are using? I would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,

We are magic 5.5 SR2, is there anyone out there using the Roche MPA to receive
and sort specimens? If so, do you use site batches to send sorted specimens to
other testing sites, ie reference labs? We would like to use this system as
marketed, but were told by Meditech that all tests that the MPA sorted would
have to be listed in the analyzer batch dictionary as well as listed with the
performing site where the MPA was located in order for the sorting to work with
the interface. If we unreceive the specimens we can not put them in a site
batch to go to another performing site without a custom. Would really
appreciate any and all responses of how you worked this out.

Our hospital is currently investigating a product that offers a prebill
solution that would reside in coding. They say it is designed to
interface with Meditech in ABS and the encoder. APC Pro would provide
all CCI, OCE and any other edits that any healthcare insititution would
want to build. It's purpose is to inform coding of billing issues prior
to coding/billing so that they may be resolved on the front end. Has
anyone heard of this product, using it, or investigating using it with
Meditech?

As always, thank you for your time,
