Michelle,
we're a Pyxis hospital, but the problem is the same. If our experience
is an indication, MediTech won't do anything to help you beyond the
"enter everything as SCH" suggestion. Your best chance at success will
have to come from Acudose.
Our Pyxis interface engineer changed the Pyxis side of the interface to
identify the ONE and STA orders and disregard the lame one minute D/C
message from Meditech. Instead, Pyxis gives these orders an 8 hour
"active" window. Maybe the Acudose folks can figure out how to do the
same... Good luck.

Dear L:

Is anyone else having this problem? We are Magic 5.5 SR1, setting up
new
Acudose cabinets in profile mode and are having trouble with STAT and
NOW orders disappearing from the Acudose cabinet when the DC code
comes
over.

This is Meditech's answer: "If you enter a ONE or STAT order, there
isn't access to the stop time to have it be anything beyond 1 minute.
You could enter a SCH order put a 1 hour or so stop date/time in
there.
This would function as a ONE time order in that they would only get
one
dose (as long as the frequency isn't greater than the stop time
window)."

Acudose says that if they get the DC code that's it - the drug is DC'd
and it comes off the Acudose dispensing machine. This is different
than
a "stop code" - the lag time applies to that.

Does that mean that the pharmacists have to edit every STAT or NOW
order
and change it from a STAT to a SCH and put the stop time in 2 hours?
Has
any one else encountered this problem, and if so, how did you over
come??

Thanks!
Michelle
PS - Great to meet so many of the "L-people" at regional MUSE!
