So, you contracted with TSG to build you an interface between MT and a
3rd party software - which they did, and which did the job you wanted.
Then you decided to change venders for the 3rd party software, but don't
want to pay TSG or the new software vendor to build a new interface. So
you think TSG should simply tell you anything you need to know to try
and make this interface work with the new software. That is asking a
lot!

This is basic interface documentation listing message types that were
customized for us that are generated (e.g. a patient is merged, is it an
A18, A34, or an A40) along with message structures, the actual make-up
of the HL7 messages sent. We need to change the software that is
receiving and sending the messages with the TSG product and the new
company needs to set up their end the same way.

Is it possible that the "documentation" you are requesting is actually a
product for TSG. TSG can not give away certain documentation, because
the documentation in some cases is the product, to give it away would
allow reverse engineering and diminish the value of their product. I
have found that TSG is very generous with documentation on how to use
their products.

Unfortunately our experience has not been as positive with TSG.
Recently we requested documentation for an interface and TSG stated that
providing this documentation is not part of routine support. We have
escalated within the company and have had no response. We feel that new
customers are priority whereas "old" customers do not receive the same
level of support.

Hi,

We have used most of The Shams Group products, including Galactica.
Their products are great and their support is excellent. Shams has
always been willing to customize any product to meet our particular
needs.

Meditech Friends,

At Lawrence & Memorial Hospital we're currently using Meditech magic 4.9
SR7. I know that information is appreciated by most of you, but in this
particular case, it's really not applicable.

I need your feedback on 2 items in regards to:
1. General over-all performance and support and service of The Shams
Group (TSG) on any of their products. Their hardware and/or software
service and support satisfaction in your opinion.

2. If anyone specifically has used TSG's Galactica products, the
experience, the performance, support and service satisfaction, in your
opinion. (Perhaps even more specific if anyone has used the Galactica
RX product?)

Thank you,
