We are MAGIC 5.5.3. We just moved from Medispan to FirstDataBank. We
moved because FirstData was the only vendor that allowed us to move to
the 1B allergy checking. One difference that we have discovered is that
FirstDataBank doesn't included medications that have been discontinued
greater than 24 months ago. Medispan includes more. This isn't an
issue for us now that we have our drug dictionary up to date :) .
Overall, we are very satisfied with the change.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] FDB or MediSpan?

Calling all PHA L-ers, what are the pros & cons of using the formulary
from First DataBank or MediSpan, in conjunction with the PHA module? We
go live with PHA in 2007, and need to make a formulary decision, so all
anecdotes and feedback on those two products are appreciated.

We have also looked at UltiMedex (from Thomson Micromedex), but it's in
third place right now. Still, any thoughts on that product would also be
most helpful.

Thanks for your insight!
