Thanks to all who responded.

Just a few more questions. We do not have EMAR. Our MARs are generated
(daily) thru pharmacy and are replaced with the new ones every evening
before pharmacy leaves. (not a 24 hour pharmacy). If the order is placed
by pharmacy (give sometime before discharge) it shows up every day on the
MAR. Pharmacy doesn't know when the patient is to leave, or if the med has
been given. (so it is never really DC'd off the MAR). It keeps printing on
the MAR, which can lead to duplicate administration by nursing. I was just
wondering if any one used some sort of notification for nursing to have them
follow-up the drug, or some sort of notification to pharmacy that it had
been given and to please DC off the MAR. I've thought about having the
pyxis txn slips that print on removal sent to pharmacy..lots of little
papers that could get lost in route. Maybe a pyxis printout every morning
to pharmacy on all vaccines removed. Just bouncing ideas around. I like
Tom's idea of a sticker placed on the discharge instruction sheet, who
places this sticker on the sheet and how is it generated? Wondering if
anyone else had this problem and how they solved it.

Thanks

Diane
