Meditech GL Users

I've just completed my first year budgeting the operations for North Country
Health Services. I used the same process as my predecessor which I thought
to be quite confusing both for me and the department managers having to
submit budgets.

Our process is primarily using spreadsheets to prepare the budgetary
numbers. Once the numbers are rolled up, we enter all this information into
the GL Budget module. Obviously this creates duplication along with a lot
of keying.

I would like to know what budget processes/products others Meditech users
are using to create their budgets. I did use the GL budget module, but
primarily just to enter the numbers into. I see that there are a lot more
features within the GL budget module that I did not use. Also, I see the PP
has a budget module. Is anyone using that and if you are what types of
information need to be entered?

Another question I have is in regards to other budgeting software that links
with Meditech. If you are using other software please let me know the ease
with which it interfaces with Meditech and if possible the cost associated
with the software.

I appreciate any and all responses. I'm trying to figure out a better
budget process, so the more ideas I hear, hopefully I can take what others
are doing and meld it into our environment here and NCHS.

Thank you.
