We are LIVE with e-sign for verbal and telephone orders in our clinic and
hospital. We did set it up so the provider has to view the order before signing
as there is the option to have them just sign without viewing.

With that said, we did hear some complaints at first, but we continuously let
them know they need to know what they are signing, and that clicking on the
little pen icon is very quick and simple. They also have the option to reject
the order if it is not what they remember or if it is in the queue by mistake.
So far the e-sign for reports has been so positive that the signing for orders
hasn't been that much of a problem.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Electronic Signature of Telephone Orders

I would love to hear from other client server facilities who have
implemented electronic signature of Telephone orders. We implemented
this practice about a month ago and are hearing strong negative feedback
from physicians about having to review and sign each order individually,
when in the paper world, they just put one signature at the bottom of
the long list of verbal/telephone orders.

Any tips and tricks to improve physician satisfaction would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks,
Charlotte
