I did this at my last hospital, which was MAGIC. I scheduled an hourly
NPR that output as an HTML formatted file and FTP'd it to the intranet
server. (overwriting the current file every time it ran).

It was basically just a single line file that displayed a "current
census" and a number.

The intranet included this html page as one of its frames.

You could accomplish the same thing with C/S, but you would have to use
whatever 3rd party automation method you already use for that.

As far as html formatting goes, I suggest "the google". There are many
html resources and how-to's on the internet.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] pt census on intranet

Has anyone developed an automated process for extracting the current
occupancy (occupied beds) from Meditech and posting it to their intranet
site? I'm looking to provide a number that is updated regularly so all
staff know how full the hospital is.

Thanks,

Mike
