If you have a SQL Server (2000 or 2005), you could use Microsoft Reporting
Services as a repository to store various office documents including Word,
PowerPoint, Excel, PDF's, Crystal Reports, etc. It's a web-based tool
whereby client software doesn't need to be installed in your environment
(except your normal Office application and/or Adobe). It is read-only and
provides the end user a "New" notification when changes are made to any of
your files.

These can be stored in one or many folders based on the user security roles
you have set up. These documents can be retrieved and saved to the users
own system if necessary. A fancy 'Search' isn't really available other than
a normal CTRL-F within the window to search for a file name and from within
the document itself once opened.

You can do this with Microsoft SharePoint. It works great for us at Moore
County Hospital District.

Hi Jerri

While it's not clear to me exactly what you are looking for, I am assuming
you are looking for something to manage/store/view P & P rather then
something to develop them (like templates)

We use software called Trove to create an online Library of documents
including P&P. You can research this at

What P&P management software is being used out there?
Advantages/Disadvantages etc? Are you using something specific to
healthcare? Can you Google it? Can you track versions of P&P's?

Thank you for any information you can pass along.
Thank You,
