Hi Everyone,

We have been trying to figure out the best way to document communication
with patients (outpatient) regarding cancelled, rescheduled or no-shows for
appointments. A couple of outpatient areas would like this saved in the
patients record and displayed in PCI with like information (not notes) so
the physicians are aware when they look for information related to that
department that the patient cancelled. However, Unit
coordinators/secretaries often take the calls and have not and will not be
given the opportunity to document interventions.

I have built an administrative data screen that I attached to the outpatient
location and can display the responses to the queries in PCI under the sort
order I select, but I'm wondering if there is a better way. The UCs would
then have to enter a note (which they have been authorized to do) to save
this data to the printed medical record (NUR).

Thanks for any recommendations you may have,

Patty
