Hi Betty:

We are using Symbol scanners - LS2208 - they are programable for any use
you need. Currently we are using them in the OR for scanning Pt
wristbands and for entering supplies into the PICIS MedSurg. They are a
wedge connection into the keyboard.

Thanks
Judy

I think Symbol has a scanner that will read both (ISBT and
multidimensional). Don't know the model number off the top of my head.
We are getting ready to bring on inhouse for testing to see for sure.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] BMV scanners with ISBT 128 compatibility

Is anyone using scanners for BMV that are also ISBT 128 compatible?
We are currently using the Welsh Allyn 3800's, but they can't read ISBT
128 bar codes, and we are trying to position for the upcoming blood bank
changes from Codabar to ISBT 128. If anyone has any recommendations on
a good scanner which would work well for both applications, I would
appreciate it.

Thanks, Marj
