Betty, We have not found an associated way to recall. We are still using paper MARs and in the instance of a sliding scale or values that require medication, we not only download the meter but enter the result again in an assessment screen and on the med sheet. The additional PCS assessment was in response to physicians who wanted to view the information remotely where the med sheets were not available. This has been problematic at times however with conflicts in times when the nurse charts late but forgets to back up the time. I am hopeful this problem will improve and the separate assessment will no longer be necessary once we begin using the online MAR. Our policy states the meters must be downloaded at least every 24 hours but users are instructed to download the meter once they are finished using it to allow the information to be downloaded more timely. We are Meditech C/S v5.5.2 and are going to interface the Lifescan SureStep Flexx meters to Meditech by way of Telcor's Quicklinc engine. We understand that between MT and QL, the orders will be placed, charges will drop and results will be verified and show up in EMR. Can results also be set up to recall to an associated query in PCS (not using "associated data")? What is your policy for docking the meters for download? For patients with sliding scale coverage, do your nurses enter the result again in PCS? Thanks in advance, Betty Dollar LIS Coordinator Bert Fish Medical Center 401 Palmetto St. New Smyrna Beach, FL 32168 ph 1.386.424.5290 fx 1.386.424.5075 <mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]> [EMAIL PROTECTED] This e-mail or the documents accompanying this e-mail contain information that may be confidential and/or privileged.
