Hi Janet,

We do allow those e-signing Physician (who are willing and want to correct
their own reports) to use the edit function through the Quick Electronic
Signature Edit Mode. This takes them directly into the body of the text when
they select edit. The Audit trail for the report shows who made audits and
when and giving them the ability to edit expedites getting the report to the
final status because we do not have to wait for the middle man (transcription)
to receive notification that a change is needed, make the edit then wait for
the Physician to sign it from the queue. I know there is a messaging system
that can be set up to e-mail messages from providers to transcription regarding
edits, and we've tested it out and there are some nice features within it, but
we have not availed ourselves of this option. It's easier for the Physician to
pick up a phone and call transcription and many here still do not even use
e-sign.

For those of you utilizing the e-sign option for physicians for medical
records, do you allow them to edit or correct. If so, do you allow them
full access or shaded option or open option. We are pondering this idea
and wondered what the pitfalls are for allowing them to edit and then
e-sign.
