Good morning L'ers! We have quite an issue here that we are trying to figure out and I would like your input on how you are doing this at your hospital.
We have a patient registered in a pre-reg status for left cataract same day surgery. The pre-op nurse calls and documents all the history, JCAHO requirements, etc. etc. This information is filed. She then creates another visit, same thing, except it's for a different date of service for the right cataract surgery. The information that comes over to her pre-op assessment is information that was filed on a previous hospital stay, NOT the info that was filed 5 minutes ago!! According to Meditech, this recently filed info resides in ADM, not MRI, where information is pulled from...and this is a problem due to the patient having two active visits! We do have these queries set up as demo recall, and the intervention is set up to recall queries. What are you doing to get the most RECENTLY filed information to that new visit? Now that we are listing all the allergies WITH the effects and all the home meds this is getting to be a larger and larger issue. Thanks so much for your input...have a very merry, merry Christmas!!
