Jiten,

I found that if you have the sort set up to sort by generic name, then it will
sort by generic name for each patient as you say. However if you put the same
format in the Alternate Format field, then the refill list groups all like
drugs together based on a alpha sort. In our case the IV.CHH is the IV list
format entered for each CART. If it is entered again in the Alternate List
Format field when the refill list is run, the refill list will sort the way
that you seem to desire. Labels will also be sorted the same way. So all
Ampicillin is printed before Cefazolin etc.

Here is a sample screen set up:

Hi everyone on the L,

I was wondering if anyone has had any success in Creating an IV refill list
format that prints the List Alphabetically by Drug Name (as well as the Labels)
instead printing it by Patient and then location. The meditech sort seems to
allow a sort by generic name but that is still within each patient.

Ideally it would look like
Ampicillin 1 gram
IV Drug............Details................
Patient................/1ѥ%X4)՜х̸Aѥи1ѥ4(4)
齱āɅ4)%X՜х̸4)Aѥи1ѥ%X4)՜х̸Aѥи1ѥ4(4(4)Q́ݽձȁѕ̜ݽɬՉхѥ4(4)Q́م4(4))ѕ(()5%Q
