We use a company called Televox (website is televox.com) to call
patients asking them to call into our surgery assessment center prior to
their surgery date. It has worked very well for our users. We started
about May 2006 and are getting ready to use the same service for another
area in the hospital. We transmit a file out during the day for evening
calls, and a call report with the results of the calls is emailed back
to users here. Even though file transmission problems have been rare, we
found it more prudent to send the file during the day so that there is
time and staff available to resolve problems and not miss getting calls
made.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Automated Phone System for Patient Appointment
Times

Can anyone recommend a vendor who provides an Automated Phone Messaging
system for patients to either be called <OR> to "call in" to receive
their "time to report" for surgery?
