We have touch screen tablets/laptops on our wireless carts and the nurses do
not use the pens. They prefer the mouse.

When we did our PCS training we actually had all users use the pens so they
would get used to it - but after go-live they used the mouse. I think there is
too many times when they have to type vs. selecting from a screen - even though
we really did attempt to make most queries several/group responses.

So far that is what we have found. We have tried a larger desktop PC with a
touch screen that didn't require a pen - but have not pursued that at this time.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Touch Screens with PCS

All,

Although touch screen is supported in PCS, is anyone using this with
either touch or pens for the PCS nursing documentation? Sounds nice in
the planning stages but is the mouse really what people end up with?
