We think we have solved our problem with the Pharmacy Refill List, and
it has nothing to do with the dispensing machines, per se.

What we found is that when the docs were using order sets, (the order
sets had the main inventory instead of being blank) then the med came
over with the wrong "main" inventory. Once we went through all the order
sets, and deleted the inventory for all the meds, it has been working
fine.

We are Magic 5.5 SR1, and using Acudose dispensing machines.

Hope this helps someone out there!!

Subject: RE: [MEDITECH-L] Pharmacy Refill List

Just wanted to give you all an update that we received from Meditech
that Pyxis is going to take care of. Hopefully it works. Here are the
changes Pyxis will make

1. Block Empty Return Bin messages
2. Block Pocket Refill Messages
3. Block Expired Item Messages
4. Block Cancel Transaction messages

This was based on Meditech's recommendation from the task.

Lombardi,Robert (MEDITECH) - Dec 29, 2006 - 1719 EST: Aimee, I was able
to find
the task where the Empty Bin Return transactions are treated as Pocket
Unloads
as Pyxis sends us a B code for these type of transactions. It seems
that once
we found out about these types of codes, that other site contacted Pyxis
to ask
them to block these "B" messages from crossing the interface...which are
interpreted as Pocket Unloads.

The following inventory messages are not blocked and would be sent to
Meditech -
Loads - L
Unloads - U
Empty Bin - B
Pocket Fill - F
Expired Items - E
Cancel Transaction - X

Blocked:
Counts/Content - C

It looks like we only handle the following in the ZPM messages:
PC - Pocket Content
PL - Pocket Load
PU - Pocket Unload

We check for Loads-"L" then Contents "C" and if it is not either we send
it as a
"PU".

In order to process the true unloads (which remove the med from the drug
dict),
we need the B transactions blocked. For inventory we only need pocket
load,
pocket unload and pocket content. Having Pyxis block the following
transactions
won't impact patient charges.

Empty Bin - B
Pocket Fill - F
Expired Items - E
Cancel Transaction - X

Can you please get in touch with your Pyxis rep and run this by him/her?
This
solved the problem for the other site that I remember this happening.
Hope this
helps, thanks!

We are having similar problems, although we are using Acudose and we are
live with POM at the same location as the dispensing machines.

This has been happening since we went live with the dispensing machines
in profile mode (not in dispensing mode).

All the meds are in the drug dictionary dispense from stock=Y as well.

We even went back and did a limited edit on all the RX and changed the
inventory to the correct dispensing machine.

This is what I have from Meditech so far:

1) They did an out of sequence code check.

2) They think that this DTS will solve the problem (even though it says
transferred from ER, and most of our patients are direct admits)

DTS 7256: Addendum 2922: Inventory on INP order not Updating When Pt
Admitted from REG ER

This DTS was put in LIVE yesterday. I will let you know if this solved
the problem for us.

We are Magic 5.5 SR1.

Yes, this has been a problem for us and we haven't been able to find the
common thread causing it. Let me know if you hear something.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Pharmacy Refill List

Hi All,

We are a Magic 5.5 SR2 site using Pyxis Med Stations. Occasionally,
when we run the refill list, drugs appear that are dispensed from Pyxis.
These drugs are set to 'Dispense from Stock = Y' and the Med Stations
are defined correctly in the Drug dictionary. The refill list will
print correctly for the same patient with the same meds for multiple
days and then it will sporadically start showing a med that shouldn't be
there. This issue sometimes corresponds to a transfer from one unit to
another, but not always.

Has anyone else had issues with this? Meditech has not been able to
assist with resolving this for us.

Thanks for any assistance!
