Hi John, thanks for the link. Sending the printer cmds works fine. he's able to set the lines/page and etc but what happens is after the labels have finished printing (ie after the NPR rpt finishes printing), Meditech sends a series of it's own printer commands which resets the lines/page and several other parameters. when the user presses the page feed button on the printer, it form feeds too many labels because it now thinks it has 8 ½ x 11 paper in it. It's a genicom 3860 btw. He found out NPR was sending printer commands because 1. the printer was being reset to 8 ½ x 11 paper and 2. we redirected the NPR rpt to a virtual printer (his PC) which showed the command codes at the end of the report. Oddly enough, the command codes don't get sent if the report is printed to DOWNLOAD and EFF NO and SFF NO are used. After seeing the cmds displayed in #2 (above) our NPR report writer recognized the command codes as being the default LPI, CPL, etc Meditech uses in it's NPR reports. Randy

At the end of the print job MEDITECH is reseting the print to it's defaults. Genicom makes a lot of different printers (lasers and dot matrix too) and your specific question did provide specific codes but did not give the model number. How did he determine the codes being sent to the printer? Why is that significant?
