I'd be interested in this from the Magic perspective, too. Kim, we've
experienced those issues from Medicaid and Medicare, too.

Subject: Re: [MEDITECH-L] Proration Issue for C/S Sites

 Hi Kim,

I submitted a request for this in 2001 (2002?) on behalf of a large 500+
bed C/S California Hospital.

They wanted to do the same thing - we wrote up the spec and MEDITECH
worked on it for a year. Our hospital then lost interest in having it
done - but they initially had the same concerns (due to retro
adjudication of claims and reimbursement corrections).

You may give me a call if you want the enhancement # - or ask MediTech
to look at the DEVELOPMENT enhancements for C/S Southern California. (Ed
should be aware of it). Hopefully, you won't have to start at square
one!!

[MEDITECH-L] Proration Issue for C/S Sites

C/S Reimbursement Management Users:

I am submitting an enhancement request for a batch reorder/reprorate

routine that would allow you to reorder/reprorate a selection file, and

I wanted to get a feel as to whether or not other sites have felt the

need for this routine. We recently have had several cases where payors

have completed bulk reprocessing of claims resulting in a change in the

contractual adjustment. On our last couple of remittances our Medicare

Intermediary reprocessed all claims from 1-1-2006 forward because of a

reimbursement issue, and instead of just reprocessing the impacted

claims, the intermediary reprocessed all claims. To make matters worse,

Medicaid went back and reprocessed claims from 6-1-2006 forward. We

ended up running a selection and scripting the reorder/reprorate of the

last remittance because of the volume and repetition. Have other sites

experienced this type of issue?

Thanks,

Kim Tilley
