BlankI'm not sure about this, but I'm wondering what people are doing
concerning recurring lab tests. What has happened is that we have people with
recurring lab tests that then get a one time order for some other lab test.
They come in for the one time order and the registration clerks don't realize
they have recurring orders and neither does the lab staff. If the patient
doesn't say anything, the recurring labs don't get drawn. I thought about
using a clinical alert but I don't really know how to go about attaching this
alert to the patient. What are other hospitals doing with this situation?
Thanks.
