We use TSystem for ER documentation. It interfaces to Meditech Admitting, Lab, and PCI, no need for transcriptionists. We are using it for the ED doctors and for the nurses. Everyone seems happy with it.

We would like to have contacts at other small hospitals so we can "ground truth" some operational responses from our Meditech specialists in the future. Right now, our current research issue is: does anyone use electronic decision-making support or bedside documentation in their ER? If so, is that tied to your MT system? Our doctors are using E-Power Doc to produce paper visit history templates for a variety of ER patient presentations. We haven't seen an easy way to obtain that functionality within MT. So far, our best option is to use the templates as a dictation guide. (All dictation will be transcribed into our MT system, thus it will be accessible to physicians electronically.) Suggestions?
