The therapists at our facility are using the Status Board, and managing their
own patient list. It's not that hard to click the Manage list button and add a
new patient to your list, if you are going to be the therapist responsible for
them during their stay. I have set up links to other routines (OE and SCH)
through the print routine function on the Status Board, so it becomes a sort of
"one stop shop" for their Meditech needs.

The nurses are all on the Status Board as their main page in NUR. As Daniel
indicated, it was received very positively, and is relied upon now.

The status board was probably the easiest "sell" to nursing I have had.
We keep the old menu we used to use as their hotkey. We setup nearly
everyone with a location status board so that our users don't have to
fool with selecting patients in order to use the system. This is
probably a con when someone gets pulled to another location, and we
haven't taken the time we need to in order to fix some folks, like the
nursery where we have one set of beds, but two locations for the
nursery.

We haven't moved ancillary folks to it because they don't work through a
whole location. I'd love for there to be a way to get folks on a
particular status board based on something from OE. Then we could have
a status board that would work for PT or RT because it would always have
their list of patients on it.

When moving to the status board it would be best to do an audit of folks
location in the NUR dictionary. Probably there was nothing related to
their location in your prior documentation, but if you make the location
status board it will impact whether patients show up or not.

The biggest con for me is that there are only a few "buttons" that you
can attach a menu to and you can't change the names of those buttons.
So, we decided that the "Variance" button would hold our main menu
options that didn't have their own buttons already, and the "Print
Report" button would hold all of our print options. You will want/need
to convert menus into cascading menus to work from the status board.

Subject: [MEDITECH-L] Magic Status Board as default screen

Hi,

I'd like to hear from folks who use the NUR Status Board as the default
or only screen in NUR.

What needs to be in place in order for that to happen?
What are some of the pros and cons?
Does it work in all clinical areas?
What is some of the feedback from the staff, Nursing and Allied?
Has anybody optimized the Status Board-i.e.. Done some extra work on it
to make it really perform?

Thanks,
Camille
