Hi - We had the same problem with our Schedule 3 meds last year. I don't know
how our IS department resolved the report that actually goes to CURES, but I
can tell you what I do. I have a simplified report that jus shows the fields
that pharmacy can edit if they need to be edited, MD, refills, date entered,
etc.
If the RX is a refill, the "DATE WRITTEN" does not print. Since we no longer do
very many outpatient prescriptions except for discharges and ER
prescriptions
which have no refills, I haven't looked at this lately. I could send you a copy
of my report if you like, but it won't help you in the actual report going
to CURES. Let me know if I can help you out. Cindy

[MEDITECH-L] NPR - Pharmacy CURES REPORT
California is now required to include Schedule IV Controlled Substances on the
CURES report. We are required to submit each transaction within a one week
time period of Schedule II,III and IV drugs and include "new or refill". If it
is new "0" and each refill by the number of the refill that was dispensed,
for example for the first time a refill is filled it would be a "1" if it is
the second time it was filled it would be a "2" etc. The field is "out.refill"
but if I use "Last(out.refill)" as was suggested it and the RX was filled twice
within the time period it would show the same refill number for both...
I was writing the report from
PHA.RX.pha.rx.transactions when we were required to submit monthly...
There may be a better segment to write it from...
If you are not familiar with the report it has some patient info (name,
address, bdate) some med info (ndc, schedule no) rx info (rx#, quantity, date
written, txn date, ref, frequency, md's dea)
I've got all the rest but cannot get the number of the refill dispensed on a
specific date.
example of what I need:
1-1-07 rx #28888 alprazolam 0.25mg #5 "0" (original)
1-5-07 rx #28888 alprazolam 0.25mg #5 "1" first refill
1-7-07 rx #28888 alprazolam 0.25mg #5 "2" second refill
when I use Last(out.refill) 1-1-07,1-5-07 and 1-7-07 show "2" if I use
out.refill - I don't get anything.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.
